six months in colorado

It’s sort of amazing how quickly time can fly by. Since moving to Colorado in May, we have had quite a number of adventures.

Unlimited local craft beer in a tiny stein. What’s not to love?

We went to Brewfest Under the Stars in Castle Rock. This was an evening of local craft beers, food trucks, and music. I imagine we’ll go again next year.

Too many of “those” ladies (i.e., gaggles of women wearing yoga pants and matching shirts) and not enough shady spots to lounge in.

We also went to Winefest in Grand Junction. This was a gathering of wineries throughout the Southwest. It was a very hot day and the event was very crowded. I don’t think we’ll make the trek out for it again.

Our niece liked the idea of petting a stingray WAY more than the practice of petting a stingray.

My mom and brother’s family came to visit at the end of October. While they were here, we used our library card to get free admission to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We had a lot of fun wandering through the different exhibits. I think we’ll have to go again since we couldn’t see everything in one day. During the same trip, we went to the Downtown Aquarium. It was super neat!

That time I hit a T-Rex with my car. Just kidding, we all dressed up as the toys from Toy Story.

Finally, we had our first set of holidays here. We joined some long-time friends and had a blast trick-or-treating. I can’t wait to find out what next year’s theme is. We had a very chill Thanksgiving with just the two of us and are looking forward to a quiet Christmas as well.

That’s about it for us. I’m sure the next six months will bring a few adventures as well!

  1. I think we did more here in our first six months than we did in Michigan for the first two years. We very much like living here.I did the slideshow with iPhotos on my mac. I'm sure that there is a PC equivalent.
